PETER C. MARINELLO
Director - National Advertising Review Council
Peter C. Marinello is the Director of the National Advertising Review Council's
("NARC") Electronic Retailing Self Regulation Program ("ERSP"). Before joining NARC
in July 2004, Peter had been the Associate Director at the National Advertising
Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus since 2000 and a Senior Staff
Attorney with NAD since March of 1993. Peter has written over 200 decisions for
NAD on various advertising issues including nuclear energy, infomercials and on-line
marketing and has spoken on behalf of the NAD at a number of trade conferences and
workshop seminars.
Prior to joining NAD, Peter practiced law for six years at a general litigation
firm and specialized in the drafting and negotiation of residential and commercial
contracts. Peter has appeared in court in each of the five boroughs of New York
as well as Nassau and Suffolk counties and is also admitted to New York's Southern
and Eastern District Courts of the United States. Peter also brings an extensive
communications background to NARC beginning as a radio broadcaster at WNYU in New
York. He has assisted in the production of television broadcasts for the USA Cable
Network and NBC Sports and worked with on-air talent and helped to coordinate the
scheduling of program sponsors. The combination of Peter's legal and communication
skills adds a unique expertise to NARC and he has contributed a specialized knowledge
to this forum of advertising self-regulation.
Peter is a graduate of New York University and St. Johns University School of Law
and has been a member of the New York State Bar Association since 1988.
Bob Hilleman
Bob Hilleman is the Program Analyst for the Electronic Retailing Self-Regulation
Program (“ERSP”). He assists with ERSP’s ongoing monitoring program along with ERSP’s
day to day activities.
Before joining ERSP, Bob was a staff member of the Children’s Advertising Review
Unit of the National Advertising Review Council (“NARC”). Prior to joining NARC,
Bob worked in national television media investing at the OMD USA advertising agency
and as a District Representative for United States Congresswoman Nita Lowey.
Bob has a B.A. from the University of Delaware and a M.A. from Arcadia University.
